She wants nothing more than to just be normal - she is insecure and afraid of anything that might make her "different" and turn her friends away from her, whether it's being the Chosen, being an angel, or having a disease that could kill her in a matter of months. She will lie and lie often if it means keeping her own discomfort and suffering under wraps. She apologizes excessively, even when it's not remotely needed, and she goes to extreme lengths to keep people from worrying about her.
